How does a regular school run work?
Before term starts, we sit down with you, by phone or in person, and agree the details: the pick-up address, the school, the morning and afternoon times, which days, and anything else that matters, such as an after-school club on a Wednesday or a different finish time on a Friday.
From then on, the run happens every school day without you needing to book it. If something changes, such as a school trip, an inset day or a doctor's appointment, let us know and we will adjust that day.
Will my child have the same driver every day?
Yes, that is the point of the service. Your child sees the same familiar driver each day, so they know who to look for at the gate and the driver gets to know the routine, the school entrance and the child. For a parent, it means one person you have met, not whoever happens to be free.
Female drivers are available on request. Tell us when you set up the run.
How do you keep parents informed?
We agree with you how you would like to hear from us, for example a quick message when your child has been collected or dropped off. If traffic on the way to school is bad, or something unexpected happens, you will hear from us rather than finding out later.
It also helps if you tell us who else may collect your child, who to call if you can't be reached, and anything the driver should know.
Which schools and areas do you cover?
We are based in Solihull and run school journeys around Solihull, Shirley, Knowle, Dorridge, Meriden and Balsall Common, and further afield into Birmingham, Coventry, Warwick and Kenilworth. Plenty of families in the area send children to schools a few miles from home, and a regular run saves a parent the morning drive and the hunt for a parking space near the gate.
If you have more than one child, or two families on the same route want to share, tell us. The 6-seat MPV takes up to five passengers and the 7-seater MPV takes up to six.
What should I tell you when setting up a school run?
The child's name and age, the school and which gate or entrance they use, the morning pick-up and afternoon collection times, a contact number for each parent, and who else is allowed to collect them. Tell us about anything the driver should know, such as a child who gets travel sick or a bag of sports kit on certain days. If the school has its own rules for drivers collecting pupils, let us know and we will follow them.
How is a school run priced?
School runs are quoted for the term based on the distance, the number of journeys each week, and the size of car you need. You get the price in writing before term starts, so you know what each week costs. If the run changes during the year, for example a new after-school club, we will quote the change before it starts. Bookings can be set up by phone on 0121 414 0786, 01676 478786 for Meriden and Balsall Common, by email, or through the quote form on the contact page.
