Village journeys without the wait
Meriden and Balsall Common sit in the countryside between Solihull and Coventry, and that is exactly why a booked car matters here. Buses are less frequent than in town and a cab from the city can take a while to reach you. We have a dedicated local line, 01676 478786, for Meriden, Balsall Common and the villages around them, including Berkswell and Hampton-in-Arden.
Typical journeys are trips into Solihull for Touchwood or Solihull Hospital, into Coventry for University Hospital Coventry or the city centre, and evenings out and back from local pubs and restaurants without anyone having to stay sober to drive.
Stations and airport runs
Balsall Common has Berkswell station on the line between Birmingham and Coventry, and Hampton-in-Arden station is close by. For faster trains to London, Birmingham International and Coventry are both a short drive. We run people to all of them and collect off late trains when there is no other way home.
Birmingham Airport is about 6 miles from Meriden along the A45, around 10 to 15 minutes, and about 8 miles from Balsall Common via the A452 and A45, around 15 to 20 minutes. We monitor your flight at no extra charge, and meet and greet in arrivals is available for a small base cost confirmed when you book.
School runs and family travel
Families in the villages often have a drive to school. Our school runs use the same familiar driver each day, with the term-time schedule agreed before term starts, and female drivers are available on request. For family holidays, the 7-seater MPV takes up to six passengers and six cases, so everyone goes to the airport in one car.
Meriden is traditionally known as the centre of England, and it is a central place to travel from: the A45 runs to Birmingham and Coventry, and the A452 runs south through Balsall Common towards Kenilworth and Warwick.
